A small pile of broken concrete can outweigh a whole van of furniture, so charging by van space alone would be unfair on everyone. Whether it is broken bricks, concrete, tiles, paving slabs or mixed builders waste from a renovation or a knocked-down wall, Kruze collects it and takes it to a licensed disposal point. We are registered with the Environment Agency under CBDU597687, and every load leaves with a digital waste transfer note, which matters if you are a builder passing the paperwork to a client.
Weight-based pricing
Because dense material fills a van by weight long before it fills it by space, rubble and hardcore are charged by weight from £45. As a guide, 50kg is £45, 100kg is £68, 200kg is £136 and 500kg is £340. Send a photo of the pile and roughly where it sits, and we will give you a fixed price rather than a rough guess that changes on the day. That way you know the number before we arrive, and there is nothing added on once the van is loaded. This suits builders, landscapers and homeowners alike, and it keeps a job on budget when rubble is the one thing a general skip cannot easily swallow.
What we collect
We take concrete, bricks, blocks, broken paving and patio slabs, ceramic and porcelain tiles, hardcore, gravel, sand and old cement bags, and general construction rubble from renovations, landscaping and demolition. Our two-person crew loads all of it for you, so nobody is barrowing heavy material to the kerb or lifting from an awkward back garden. Whether the rubble is bagged up neatly in builders bags or tipped in a loose heap on the drive, we deal with it either way. If your load is mixed with plasterboard, keep the plasterboard to no more than 10 percent of the load. Above that a £35 contamination charge applies, or the plasterboard can be bagged separately at £105, because gypsum cannot be mixed with inert rubble under the rules that govern where it can be tipped.
How hardcore is recycled
Clean rubble and hardcore are among the most recyclable materials there are, and more than 85 percent of what we collect is recycled or reused. Crushed concrete and brick are processed into aggregate that goes back into construction, groundworks and road building, which keeps it out of landfill entirely and cuts the demand for freshly quarried stone. Keeping plasterboard, timber and general rubbish separate from the rubble makes that recycling cleaner and helps hold the price down, so it is always worth sorting the pile before we arrive if you can.
