Soft strip clearance is the stage that comes before any heavy demolition, where a space is stripped back to its bare shell ready for a fresh fit-out. It is the difference between a builder walking into a clean structure and one wading through old ceilings, carpet and fittings. How a soft strip is priced
Soft strip waste is priced by weight from £45, because a stripped-out interior produces a large volume of mixed, heavy material. As a guide, 100kg is £68, 200kg is £136, 500kg is £340 and 1000kg is £680. Larger commercial strip outs are quoted to the job once we have seen the space or a full set of photos, so you get one clear fixed figure to put against the project budget rather than a running meter that creeps up as the job goes on. We can also phase the work over several visits on a bigger site, clearing floor by floor as each area is stripped, which keeps skips off the road and the site tidy throughout.
What is removed
We take out suspended ceilings and ceiling tiles, stud partitions, flooring and carpet, wall and floor tiles, fixtures and fittings, kitchen and bathroom units, sanitaryware, doors and door frames, skirting and joinery, redundant cabling, signage and old furniture, leaving the structure ready for the next trade. Our crews carry all of it out. If plasterboard forms part of the load, keep it under 10 percent of the total or a £35 contamination charge applies, or bag the plasterboard separately at £105 so the gypsum can be handled on its own.
Recycling the material
More than 85 percent of what we collect is recycled or reused. Timber, metal, ceiling tiles, flooring and cabling are separated for recycling, and any fittings still in good order are passed on where possible instead of being scrapped. Keeping plasterboard apart from the general waste means the gypsum can be recycled correctly rather than contaminating the rest of the load, which also keeps your disposal costs down. For a fit-out contractor that segregation and the paperwork behind it matter as much as the clearance itself, because it feeds straight into the project waste records.

Book before noon for same-day starts where possible across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield, Harrogate and Barnsley, and we can return for repeat visits as a larger refit moves through its stages. Any cheaper like-for-like licensed quote is beaten by 10 percent.
