4. A man and van. From £24.99. For an overgrown garden, a one-off strip-out, or when you have no car and no time, this is where you pay, and what you pay for is speed and no lifting.

What does a man and van garden clearance cost?

We charge on the space your waste fills in the van, or per item, and we quote it fixed before we start. There is no charge for the barrowing, the bramble-hacking, or carrying it all through the house.

Most whole-garden jobs work out better on the quarter or half van rate than paid item by item. Soil, turf, rubble and slabs are the exception. They are heavy, so they are priced by weight, from £45 for the first 50kg, the same honest basis we use for any dense load. If your clearance is mostly a dug-up border or a lifted patio, say so when you send photos and we will price the weight properly rather than guess.

Should I hire a skip for a garden clearance instead?

Usually not, and here is the honest maths. A skip works when the waste appears slowly over weeks, like a long landscaping project. Kruze skips start at £242 for a 2-yard. For a garden that is already overgrown and you want gone this week, a skip means you do every bit of the loading yourself, you may need a council permit if there is no driveway, and half the street can fill it overnight. What can go in a garden clearance?
