You only pay for the space your rubbish fills, not a fixed skip you might not use. Every price includes labour, loading and licensed disposal.
Minimum charge covers up to 40kg, about 6 to 8 black bin bags. Prices include disposal, labour and a waste transfer note. Mattresses, sofas and fridges are regulated items that each carry their own disposal cost, so they are priced per item on top of the load size. WhatsApp a photo for a fixed price and we will beat any like-for-like licensed quote by 10%.

A midi bag, the 90cm cube, is usually right for a single bathroom. Keep the heavy material such as tiles and the old suite in the bottom of the bag and put the light packaging on top, because a bathroom bag is heavy for its size and the weight decides the price more than the volume does.
No, and no brand of bag allows it. Upholstered seating contains persistent organic pollutants and has to go to an authorised facility, so a bag with a sofa in it will not be collected. We take sofas as a separate item on the same visit, priced per seat.
Heavy bags are priced by weight rather than by van space. As a guide that is £68 for 100kg, £136 for 200kg and £340 for 500kg. Send a photo of the filled bag with your postcode and we will confirm the price before we come out.
For small jobs, yes, and there is no permit to arrange. For a full tonne or more of rubble a skip is cheaper, and we will tell you when that is the case rather than quote you for the more expensive option.
You buy a 1-tonne skip bag or hippo bag, fill it yourself, and we come and collect it. It is a cheaper, permit-free alternative to a skip.
Most DIY stores and builders merchants sell 1-tonne skip bags and hippo bags. Fill it with your waste, then book us for collection.
Collection starts from £24.99, with a full skip bag around a quarter van load from £50, and disposal, depending on the size and weight of the bag. Heavier rubble bags may cost a little more.
Not if the bag sits on your own driveway or garden. A permit is only needed if it is left on a public road.
No fridges, mattresses, paint, tyres, gas bottles or hazardous waste. Our man and van service can take those items separately.
We're a fully licensed waste carrier (CBDU597687) with public liability cover, verified customer reviews and a digital waste transfer note on every job.
Yes. Find a cheaper like-for-like licensed quote and we'll beat it by 10%, with no deposit to pay.
Over 85% is recycled or upcycled rather than sent to landfill, and everything is disposed of legally with a waste transfer note.
Card, bank transfer and cash are all fine. You can pay securely once the job is booked and you get a receipt every time.
Not by us, we're a paid service, but we'll be straight with you. Your local council runs a cheaper bulky waste collection if you can wait and can carry everything out yourself. We start from £24.99, collect the same day, and lift it from any room including upstairs.
Cheaper, yes, but slower and more restricted. You wait for a slot, there's a limit on how many items you can put out, and you carry it all to the kerbside yourself. We collect from anywhere in the property and take almost anything, so you're paying for speed and for not lifting it.
Not always. As long as we can get to the waste and the price is agreed beforehand, we can collect while you're out. Plenty of our landlord and estate agent customers book exactly that way.
Kruze collects skip bags and hippo bags across Leeds and West Yorkshire, a low-cost, permit-free alternative to hiring a skip. You buy a 1-tonne bag from a DIY store, fill it at your own pace with household, garden or renovation waste, and book us to collect it whenever it is full. There is no skip sat on your driveway, no council permit and no rush to fill it before a hire period runs out.
Skip bags suit smaller clear-outs and DIY projects where a full skip would be too big or too expensive. Once collected, everything is disposed of legally with a waste transfer note and over 85% is recycled rather than landfilled. We cover Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate and Barnsley, and we will beat any like-for-like licensed quote by 10%. Book your bag collection online, by phone or on WhatsApp.
A skip bag, sometimes called a hippo bag, is a clever middle ground between a few bin bags and a full skip. You buy the bag from a builders merchant or DIY shop, keep it folded until you need it, fill it whenever it suits you, and Kruze comes to collect it once it is ready. There is no permit to arrange, no waiting for delivery and collection slots, and no skip sitting on your drive or blocking the road for a week. We are a licensed waste carrier under CBDU597687, and every collection comes with a digital waste transfer note.
Skip bag collection starts from £24.99. The exact price depends on the size of the bag and how heavy it is once filled, because a bag packed with rubble and soil weighs far more than one full of light household and garden waste. Very heavy bags may be priced by weight instead, for example £68 for 100kg or £136 for 200kg, since a bag crammed with soil and broken slabs is a very different job from one full of cardboard. Send us a photo of the filled bag and roughly what is in it, and we will confirm the price before we come out, so you know the number in advance with nothing added on at the doorstep.
A skip bag suits general household and garden waste, wood, cardboard, packaging, old furniture, flat-pack units and small amounts of DIY rubble. It is ideal for a garage tidy-up, a garden clearance or a small bathroom or kitchen rip-out where you want to work at your own pace over a weekend. Some items are banned from skips and bags by the rules, including mattresses, sofas, fridges, batteries, asbestos and chemicals. That does not mean you are stuck with them. We can still take those items, simply as separate pieces collected on the same visit, so nothing gets left behind and you clear everything in one go.
We recycle or reuse as much of what we collect as we can. Once the bag comes back to the depot the contents are sorted, with recyclable material such as wood, metal, cardboard and plastics separated out from the general waste. That is a big improvement on a bag that would otherwise go straight to landfill, and it is all backed by your digital waste transfer note, which is your proof that a licensed carrier took it away. Fridges, mattresses and sofas that we take alongside the bag are routed to the right specialist facility rather than being tipped, so the whole visit is handled correctly.
When your bag is full, WhatsApp us a photo and your postcode and we will confirm a time. There is no need to be in as long as we can reach the bag, and we will send a photo once it is gone. Book before noon for same-day collection across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Halifax, Huddersfield, Harrogate and Barnsley. Any cheaper like-for-like licensed quote is beaten by 10 percent.
Most people need the smallest bag. A midi bag holds just under a cubic yard, which is about a bathroom rip-out, a small garage tidy or a weekend of garden clearance, and it is the size sold in almost every DIY store. Go up a size only if you are clearing a whole room of furniture or a large garden, and be careful with the biggest bag, because a hippo skip bag holds more than a 4 yard skip and a bag that size full of rubble is a very different job from a bag full of cardboard.
| Bag | Dimensions | Volume | Roughly | Weight allowance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Midi bag | 90 x 90 x 90 cm | 0.73 m3 | just under 1 cubic yard | 1 tonne |
| Mega bag | 180 x 90 x 70 cm | 1.13 m3 | about 1.5 cubic yards | 1.5 tonnes |
| Hippo skip bag | 210 x 165 x 100 cm | 3.47 m3 | about 4.5 cubic yards | 1.5 tonnes |
Dimensions and weight allowances published by HIPPO, checked 7 September 2026. Volumes are worked out from those dimensions. For comparison a 4 yard skip is about 3.06 cubic metres, so the largest bag is bigger than the smallest skip most people hire.
| Bag | Light waste | Heavy waste |
|---|---|---|
| Midi bag | from £50 | Priced by weight |
| Mega bag | from £50 | Priced by weight |
| Hippo skip bag | from £100 | Priced by weight |
Light waste means household rubbish, garden waste, wood, cardboard and packaging. Bags of rubble, soil or tiles are priced by weight instead: £68 for 100kg, £136 for 200kg and £340 for 500kg. Labour, loading and licensed disposal are included, and you get a digital waste transfer note. Send a photo of the filled bag with your postcode and we will confirm the price before we come out.
This is the part that catches people out, and it is worth being straight about. A one tonne weight allowance describes what the bag itself will hold without splitting. It does not describe what a two person crew can lift off your driveway. The bag brands collect with a crane lorry that hoists the bag over the side. A man and van team empties it by hand.
So a midi bag filled to its allowance with soil, broken slabs or tile rubble is not a bag we can lift. It is a bag we empty into the van shovel by shovel, and that is why genuinely heavy bags are priced by weight rather than by the load. As a guide that is £68 for 100kg, £136 for 200kg, £340 for 500kg and £680 for a full tonne. Light bags of household and garden waste are priced by the space they take up instead, which is where collection from £24.99 and a quarter van load from £50 come in.
The practical advice is simple. Fill the bottom quarter with your heaviest material and top it up with light bulky waste. A bag loaded that way is cheaper to collect, safer to move and far less likely to tear.
If you are ripping out a bathroom or a kitchen and you expect a tonne or more of rubble, skip hire is the cheaper answer and we would rather tell you now than at the door. A full tonne collected by weight is £680. An 8 yard skip is £323 and a 14 yard skip is £463. We hire skips too, so this costs us nothing to say, and there is a full comparison on our skip hire page and in our guide to what can and cannot go in a skip.
The same honesty applies to the bag itself. The branded bag companies sell the bag and the collection together as one package. If you are buying one bag and you have no other waste, that bundle is often the simplest and cheapest route, and you should compare it before you call anyone, us included. Where we are usually the better answer is when you already own a plain builders bulk bag with no collection attached, when you have more than one bag, or when you have items the bag will not take and you want the lot gone in a single visit.
Sofas, armchairs, cushions and upholstered seating are excluded from every bag size by the bag companies themselves, and that is not fussiness. Upholstered domestic seating is classed as containing persistent organic pollutants, so it has to go to an authorised facility for incineration rather than being bulked in with general waste. Putting a sofa in a bag simply means the bag will not be collected.
Mattresses are a separate case and are often confused with the above. A mattress is not classed as upholstered domestic seating. It is refused by bags and skips for a practical reason instead, which is that the springs will not compact and the foam springs back, so it is handled and priced as its own item. Fridges and freezers are different again, controlled under the electrical waste rules because the coolant and the foam have to be degassed by a licensed facility.
Also out of every bag: paint and chemicals, tyres, gas bottles, batteries, plasterboard beyond a small amount, and asbestos. Asbestos has to be removed by a licensed specialist. We do not carry out licensed asbestos removal, and we would transport it only once a licensed contractor has removed and wrapped it.
None of that means you are stuck. We can take mattresses, sofas, fridges and tyres as separate items on the same visit as the bag, so the driveway is clear in one go. There is more on the awkward items in our guides to sofa removal and rubble and hardcore, and the builders waste and rubble rules page covers what a trade load is allowed to contain.
Skip bags are sold flat packed in DIY stores and builders merchants across Leeds and West Yorkshire and are stocked in more than 2,000 stores nationally, so you can usually pick one up the same day. They fold away until you need them, and the branded ones give you months to fill before you have to book a collection.
A plain builders bulk bag, sometimes called a dumpy bag, is the cheaper option on the shelf. The thing to know is that it comes with no collection at all. It is a bag and nothing else, so once it is full you still need a licensed carrier to take it away. That is the job we do most often.
If you pay someone to take your waste and they dump it, the liability comes back to you. GOV.UK is explicit that you must check the company is on the register of waste carriers and that you should select upper tier. If waste that gets fly-tipped is traced back to you, you can be issued a fixed penalty notice by the council.
Checking takes a minute and it is free. Kruze is registered as an upper tier carrier under CBDU597687 and you can look that number up yourself on the Environment Agency public register. Every collection we do comes with a digital waste transfer note, which is your proof that a licensed carrier took it. If a quote seems far below everyone else and the carrier will not give you a registration number, that is the moment to walk away.
If you are weighing up the council instead, both Leeds City Council bulky waste and Bradford Council bulky waste run their own collections, and for a small number of large items the council is often cheaper than any private carrier. The trade off is the wait and the rules about what they will take.
