How electrical recycling is priced
Small electricals start from a minimum load of £24.99, and larger appliances are itemised so you can see exactly what each one costs. A washing machine is £45, a tumble dryer is £54, a TV is £45 and a fridge or freezer is from £60. If you are clearing several items at once, such as a full kitchen of appliances, they can go on a load price instead, for example a quarter van from £50 or a half van from £100. What we take
We collect washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, cookers, ovens and hobs, fridges, freezers, TVs, computers and monitors, printers, microwaves, kettles, toasters, hi-fi and speakers, cables, chargers, power tools and all manner of small gadgets. Our two-person crews disconnect and carry them out for you, including heavy appliances from fitted kitchens, utility rooms and cellars, so you are not trying to shift a full-size washing machine on your own. Whether it is a single dead appliance or a whole office of old IT, we take it in one visit. Fridges and freezers are WEEE and F-gas controlled and are banned from skips, so a licensed carrier is the only correct route for them, and we make sure they reach a facility set up to handle them.
How electricals are recycled
More than 85 percent of what we collect is recycled or reused. Appliances are sent to WEEE facilities where the metals, plastics, circuit boards and components are recovered and put back into new products. Fridges and freezers are degassed by a licensed facility first, so their harmful gases are captured safely before the rest of the unit is stripped down and recycled. Any items still in working order are tested and passed on wherever we can, so a fridge or washing machine with life left in it gets a second home rather than being stripped for parts. The whole collection is backed by a digital waste transfer note, which is your proof that a licensed carrier dealt with it properly and that the controlled items went to the right place.
