Skip hire in Leeds and West Yorkshire, explained honestly
A skip earns its place when you have a steady stream of waste over several days, like a renovation or a big garden project, and somewhere legal to put it. For a one-off clear-out it is often slower and dearer than a two-person crew, because you pay for the whole container whether you fill it or not and you wait for delivery and collection. Here is the honest picture so you can choose well.
Our flat skip prices
We show one clear price per size across the whole area, with no postcode surprises added at checkout. A 2-yard skip is from £242, a 4-yard from £246, an 8-yard from £323 and a 14-yard from £463. All prices include delivery, collection and disposal with a waste transfer note.
What cannot go in a skip
By law a skip cannot take mattresses, sofas, fridges, freezers, batteries, asbestos or chemicals. That is a skip rule, not a Kruze rule, and we happily collect all of these another way. Sofas and mattresses go by two-man collection, fridges are degassed by a licensed facility, and asbestos is brokered to a specialist. Plasterboard is allowed up to 10% of the load, above that a £35 contamination charge applies, or use dedicated plasterboard bags at £105. Carpets add £10 each.
Permits and placement
A skip on your own driveway needs no permission. A skip on a public road or verge needs a council permit and lights, which we arrange, and that adds time. If access is tight or parking is on-street only, tell us first so we can advise the right size and position.
When our man and van is the smarter choice
For most household clear-outs the two-man team wins. You only pay for the volume you actually use, there is no permit, we do all the loading, and the job is done in one visit rather than over several days. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly which option is cheaper for your job.
