Gypsum in plasterboard releases hydrogen sulphide gas when landfilled with biodegradable waste, so regulations require it to be collected and disposed of separately. We handle that segregation for you.
Yes. Whether it is a stack of full sheets or a pile of offcuts, we collect it. Plasterboard disposal starts from around £45 because of the segregated processing.
Ideally yes, keep plasterboard apart from other waste so it can go straight to gypsum recycling. If it is mixed, tell us and we will advise on the best way to handle it.
Wherever possible. The gypsum is recovered and reused rather than landfilled, and you get a waste transfer note confirming compliant disposal.
Yes. We collect plasterboard as a one-off or on a regular schedule for plasterers and contractors across West Yorkshire, with all the duty-of-care paperwork.
We're a fully licensed waste carrier (CBDU597687) with public liability cover, verified customer reviews and a digital waste transfer note on every job.
Yes. Find a cheaper like-for-like licensed quote and we'll beat it by 10%, with no deposit to pay.
Over 85% is recycled or upcycled rather than sent to landfill, and everything is disposed of legally with a waste transfer note.
Card, bank transfer and cash are all fine. You can pay securely once the job is booked and you get a receipt every time.
Not by us, we're a paid service, but we'll be straight with you. Your local council runs a cheaper bulky waste collection if you can wait and can carry everything out yourself. We start from £24.99, collect the same day, and lift it from any room including upstairs.
Cheaper, yes, but slower and more restricted. You wait for a slot, there's a limit on how many items you can put out, and you carry it all to the kerbside yourself. We collect from anywhere in the property and take almost anything, so you're paying for speed and for not lifting it.
Not always. As long as we can get to the waste and the price is agreed beforehand, we can collect while you're out. Plenty of our landlord and estate agent customers book exactly that way.
Kruze collects and disposes of plasterboard across Leeds and West Yorkshire for plasterers, dry-liners, builders and renovators. Plasterboard contains gypsum, which releases harmful gas if it breaks down in landfill mixed with other waste, so regulations require it to be kept separate and cannot go in a general skip. We collect whole sheets and offcuts straight from your site or home and route them to a licensed facility for compliant gypsum recycling.
Keeping your plasterboard segregated protects you under waste regulations, and every collection comes with a digital waste transfer note as proof of compliant disposal. We recycle the gypsum wherever possible rather than sending it to landfill. We cover Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate and Barnsley with same-day and booked slots, and we will beat any like-for-like licensed quote by 10%. For mixed renovation loads, see our building waste service.
Plasterboard has to be handled entirely on its own, and that catches a lot of people out on a renovation. Because of the gypsum in it, plasterboard cannot be mixed freely with general waste at landfill, and disposal sites strictly limit how much can travel in a mixed load. Kruze collects plasterboard from renovations, refits, bathroom rips outs and trade jobs across West Yorkshire and disposes of it correctly through gypsum recycling routes, keeping you compliant and keeping the cost down at the same time.
Plasterboard is charged by weight, starting from £45 for 50kg, with 100kg at £68 and 200kg at £136. If you have only a little mixed in with other waste, up to around 10% of a mixed load is fine at no extra charge. Above that we add a £35 contamination charge, or you can take dedicated plasterboard bags at £105, which is often the tidiest option on a busy site. Send us a photo of the pile and we will give you a fixed price and tell you the cheapest way to present it.
Gypsum plasterboard releases hydrogen sulphide gas if it breaks down mixed in with biodegradable waste, which is precisely why the regulations require it to be segregated from general waste. Keeping your offcuts and old boards in their own pile, rather than buried through a general skip, is not just a rule for the sake of it. It keeps the job cheaper for you, keeps the load compliant, and means the board can actually be recycled instead of causing a problem.
Segregated plasterboard is sent to specialist gypsum recycling, where the plaster is recovered and the paper liner separated, and both are reused rather than landfilled. It keeps the material in circulation and out of the ground entirely, and recovered gypsum goes back into making new boards, which is about as close to a full circle as construction waste gets. This is exactly why sites are so strict about not letting plasterboard slip into a general mixed load, because once it is contaminated the whole load can be downgraded. Every collection comes with a digital waste transfer note under Environment Agency registration CBDU597687, and it supports our overall figure of more than 85% recycled or reused across every job we do.
Book before noon for same day collection across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and the wider area. Tell us if there are carpets in the load too, as those add £10 each, and our crew loads everything for you so you can get on with the next part of the job. It suits builders, plasterers, bathroom fitters and homeowners mid renovation alike, and a quick photo of the stack is all we need to price it and get you booked in. For a run of jobs we are happy to be your regular plasterboard collection, so it never sits around your yard or site building up between visits. Keep it dry where you can, as wet boards weigh more and cost more to clear.
