Hot tub removal costs from £130 with Kruze, including draining, dismantling and licensed disposal, and we confirm a fixed price from a photo before we book. We remove hot tubs, jacuzzis and swim spas across Leeds and West Yorkshire, however tricky the access.

A hot tub is heavy, awkward and often boxed in by decking or fencing. Our team drains it, breaks it down and carries the pieces out, whether it is inflatable, acrylic or a big built-in spa, then takes it all away and recycles what we can.

Yes. We drain it, break it down into manageable sections and carry it out, so there is nothing for you to lift or take apart beforehand.
That is our speciality. We regularly remove hot tubs boxed in by decking, fencing or narrow passages, and can take down surrounding decking if it is in the way.
It helps if you drain it beforehand, but if not we will empty it on the day. Just let us know when you book.
It starts from £130 depending on size and access. Send a photo on WhatsApp for a fixed price and we will beat any like-for-like licensed quote by 10%.
It is taken away and recycled wherever possible, with metals, plastics and components recovered rather than landfilled, and a waste transfer note provided.
We're a fully licensed waste carrier (CBDU597687) with public liability cover, verified customer reviews and a digital waste transfer note on every job.
Yes. Find a cheaper like-for-like licensed quote and we'll beat it by 10%, with no deposit to pay.
Over 85% is recycled or upcycled rather than sent to landfill, and everything is disposed of legally with a waste transfer note.
Card, bank transfer and cash are all fine. You can pay securely once the job is booked and you get a receipt every time.
Not by us, we're a paid service, but we'll be straight with you. Your local council runs a cheaper bulky waste collection if you can wait and can carry everything out yourself. We start from £24.99, collect the same day, and lift it from any room including upstairs.
Cheaper, yes, but slower and more restricted. You wait for a slot, there's a limit on how many items you can put out, and you carry it all to the kerbside yourself. We collect from anywhere in the property and take almost anything, so you're paying for speed and for not lifting it.
Not always. As long as we can get to the waste and the price is agreed beforehand, we can collect while you're out. Plenty of our landlord and estate agent customers book exactly that way.
Kruze removes and disposes of old hot tubs and jacuzzis across Leeds and West Yorkshire. Hot tubs are one of the most awkward items to get rid of, heavy, bulky and frequently hemmed in by decking, fencing or a narrow side passage. Our team drains the tub, dismantles it into manageable pieces and carries it all out, whether it is an inflatable spa, an acrylic tub or a large built-in unit, so you do not have to touch it.
As a licensed waste carrier we haul the whole lot away and recycle the metal, plastics and components wherever possible, providing a waste transfer note on the job. We handle difficult access as standard and can remove surrounding decking at the same time if needed. We cover Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate and Barnsley, and we will beat any like-for-like licensed quote by 10%.
A hot tub is one of the hardest things in any garden to get rid of. It is heavy, awkward, full of cabling and dense foam insulation, and no council skip will take it. Kruze removes hot tubs and swim spas from gardens, patios, decking and sunken surrounds across West Yorkshire, bringing the manpower and the know how to do the heavy lifting and the disposal in one visit. You get your garden or patio back without straining your back or spending a weekend trying to hack an old tub apart yourself.
Hot tub removal starts from £130. The exact price depends on the size of the tub, where it sits and how much dismantling is needed to get it out, for example through a narrow side gate, around tight corners or up from a decking surround it was built into. Larger swim spas and difficult access will sit above the starting figure. Send us photos of the tub and, just as importantly, the full route out to the van, and we will give you a fixed price before we arrive so there is no haggling on the day.
Our two person crew disconnects and drains the shell if you have not already done so, then cuts and breaks it down wherever it will not fit whole through the access. From there we carry every piece out to the van. You lift nothing and you do not need any tools of your own. If the tub is being replaced, we can time the removal so the space is completely clear and ready for the new one to be delivered and sited without delay. Most removals are done within a couple of hours, though a large sunken spa or an awkward split level garden will take longer, and we will tell you honestly at quote stage roughly how long to expect. Fixed decking boards or a section of fence sometimes have to come off to create a path out, and we can handle that too if you agree it beforehand.
A hot tub is a mix of acrylic shell, timber or composite cabinet, foam insulation, pumps, heaters and cabling, and we separate these so the metals and recyclable components are recovered rather than sent to landfill. This feeds our overall figure of more than 85% recycled or reused. You receive a digital waste transfer note under registration CBDU597687, so the disposal is fully documented and legal from start to finish.
Message photos and your postcode and we will quote and book you in, often the same day if you reach us before noon, across Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate and the wider West Yorkshire area. It really is as simple as a photo, a fixed price and a slot, with no deposit needed to hold a booking. Because we quote from the access as well as the tub itself, the price we agree is the price you pay, even when the way out turns out to be tight.
Hot tub removal with Kruze starts at £130, and that figure is the whole job: draining, dismantling, a two person crew, carrying every piece out to the van and licensed disposal with a digital waste transfer note. You lift nothing and you supply no tools. Where a job lands above the starting figure is decided by five things, and the make of the tub is not one of them.
| What moves the price | Why it moves it |
|---|---|
| Seats and shell size | A two or three seat tub is one shell and one cabinet. A six or seven seat tub is a bigger shell, more foam, more timber and a longer cutting job |
| The route out | A tub that can be walked down a side path costs least. A tub that has to be cut into pieces small enough to carry through a 750mm gate, or lifted over a wall, costs more because it takes longer |
| Whether it is built in | Sunk into a deck, boxed into a pergola or surrounded by a fitted timber skirt means the structure comes off first. We do that, and it is time on site |
| Whether it is drained | A tub left full is between one and one and a half tonnes of water that has to go somewhere before anything can move. Draining it yourself the day before is the single cheapest thing you can do |
| Where the van can stand | Twenty metres of carrying beats eighty metres of carrying. If the van can get within sight of the tub, the job is shorter |
Send a photo of the tub and a photo of the full route out to the road, and the price we give is fixed before we arrive. The access photo matters more than the tub photo, because access is what we are actually pricing.
| Route | What it costs | What you have to do |
|---|---|---|
| Kruze hot tub removal | from £130 | Point us at it and stand back |
| 4 yard skip | £246 | Dismantle the tub yourself, lift every piece in over the side, and apply for a permit if the skip stands on the road |
| Leeds City Council unwanted items collection | £30 a collection, one free per financial year | Nothing, except that hot tubs are on the excluded list and will not be collected, so this route is closed |
| Drive it to a Leeds recycling centre yourself | No gate charge for household waste | Cut it up, load it, and arrive in a car or on a bicycle, or hold a van or trailer permit. Site staff cannot help you unload |
Read that skip figure honestly. A 4 yard skip is £246 and a hot tub is a poor use of one, because the shell is mostly air and will swallow the skip long before the skip is heavy. If you are clearing a hot tub and nothing else, a skip is the expensive answer. If you are clearing a hot tub in the middle of a full garden strip out, a skip starts to make sense again.
This is the number nobody publishes, and it explains the price, the dismantling and why two friends and a transit is a bad plan.
A litre of water weighs a kilogram. Manufacturer figures, from Jacuzzi's own published specifications:
| Model | Seats | Water capacity | Dry weight | Weight full of water |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jacuzzi J-215 | up to 3 | 776 litres | 235kg | about 1,011kg |
| Jacuzzi J-345 | 7 | 1,306 litres | 353kg | about 1,659kg |
So a small domestic hot tub full of water is about a tonne, and a seven seater is closer to one and two thirds of a tonne. Even drained, the shell and cabinet of a large tub is over a third of a tonne in one rigid piece measuring 213cm by 213cm, which is why it rarely comes out whole and why it is cut down.
Two further things the weight table hides. Wet foam insulation holds water for days after a tub is drained, so a shell that reads 353kg on paper weighs more than that on the day. And an acrylic shell has no handholds, no balance point and a lot of surface area, so the limiting factor on a narrow path is usually shape rather than mass.

| Council route | What the council says |
|---|---|
| Unwanted items collection | Up to 5 items per collection, maximum 4 collections a year. One free per financial year, the other three £30 each. Hot tubs are named on the list of items the council does not collect, alongside pianos and organs, garden sheds, bathroom suites, kitchen units and rubble. Nothing larger than 6 feet by 4 feet is collected either way |
| Who can use it | Private residents only. It cannot be used by landlords or businesses |
| Household waste recycling centres | Open to Leeds residents disposing of household waste who arrive in a car or on a bicycle, or who hold a commercial vehicle permit for large vehicles, vans or trailers. The council states plainly that "our staff cannot help you dispose of your waste" |
| Trade and business waste | The council requires a skip or a waste transfer station where the waste came from tradespeople improving your home, your own business, or improving or cleaning up a property that you rent out, and warns that taking trade waste to a recycling centre can lead to a fine or imprisonment |
Take the honest reading of that table. The council route for a hot tub is not the collection, because hot tubs are excluded from it. It is the recycling centre, and it is genuinely free at the gate. The catch is the vehicle. A cut up seven seat shell does not go in a hatchback in one run, and a van needs a permit you have to apply for in advance, which is covered in our guide to the Leeds tip van permit rules. If you own a van, have a permit already, have a weekend free and do not mind the cutting, the council site will cost you less than we will and you should use it. If you are a landlord clearing a rental, both council routes are closed to you by the council's own rules and a licensed carrier is the only lawful option.
For everything the council collection does cover, and what it charges, see our breakdown of the Leeds council bulky waste service.
A hot tub is not a plug in appliance. Most are fed by their own weatherproof isolator switch on a dedicated circuit run out from the consumer unit, and that supply has to be made dead and safe before the tub can be broken up.
Electrical safety in homes in England sits under Approved Document P of the Building Regulations, which is the statutory guidance covering electrical work in dwellings and which sets out when work has to be notified. If your tub is hard wired, arrange for a qualified electrician to disconnect it and make the supply safe before our date. We are a licensed waste carrier, not an electrical contractor, and we will not cut into a live supply. If your tub runs from a 13 amp plug into an outdoor socket, unplug it and you are done.
This is a cost most people have not budgeted for when they search for a removal price, which is exactly why it belongs on this page rather than in the small print. Sorting it in advance also stops the removal being rebooked on the day.
If your tub sits inside a deck or a timber surround that also needs to come out, that part is ours and we handle it in the same visit, the same way we do on a shed removal and dismantling job.
Sometimes, and it is worth understanding when, because "free hot tub removal" is a real search and a mostly unreal offer.
A working tub with a recent pump, a clean shell and no leaks has resale value, and the fastest free outcome is usually to give it away to someone who will come and get it. That route is covered properly in our guide to getting rid of a hot tub, including what to say in the listing and how to avoid the time waster who turns up with a car.
A dead tub is a different object. The metal in it is a pump housing, a heater element and some pipework, and that is not enough value to pay for two people, a van and a licensed disposal route. Anyone offering to take a broken hot tub away for nothing is either selling you something else at the same time or is not a licensed carrier, and an unlicensed carrier is a risk you keep, because the duty of care for your waste stays with you under your waste transfer note. Ask for a carrier registration number before anyone loads anything. Ours is CBDU597687.
If you have other bulky items going at the same time, putting them on one visit is almost always cheaper than booking separately, and our bulky waste collection page covers what else we take in a single load.
Why does a hot tub cost more to remove than a sofa? Weight, shape and time. A three seat sofa is £96 and two people carry it out whole. A hot tub is a rigid shell of up to 213cm square that usually has to be cut into pieces on site before anything moves, plus a timber cabinet, plus foam, plus a pump pack. It is closer to a small demolition than a collection, and the price reflects the hour rather than the item.
Does a swim spa cost more than a hot tub? Yes. A swim spa is longer, heavier and almost always installed into a deck or a base, so there is more cutting, more carrying and more structure to remove first. Send photos and we will price it properly rather than guess, because swim spas vary far more than hot tubs do.
Do you remove hot tubs in London or Brighton? No, and we would rather say so than waste your time. Kruze covers Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Harrogate and Barnsley. If you are outside West Yorkshire, look for a licensed waste carrier local to you and ask them for their registration number before you book.
Is it cheaper if I dismantle the hot tub myself? Draining it beforehand genuinely helps and saves time on the day. Cutting it up yourself usually does not save what people expect, because the pieces still have to be carried and loaded, and a half dismantled tub in a garden is harder to handle than a whole one. If you want to reduce the price, drain it and clear the route out, and leave the shell to us.
